    Create with AI

Instead of filling in the tool builder form field by field, describe what you want in plain language and let AI generate a draft of the tool. Open it from the tools list — Create with AI.

    The flow

    The flow is three steps:

    1. Describe your tool idea — a free-text box: “What should the tool do?” (e.g. “Collect customer complaints, send each to the right team’s support email, return a tracking number”).
    2. A few clarifications — AI shows a short summary of what it understood and may ask clarifying questions; there’s also a freeform box for anything the questions didn’t cover.
    3. Preview — AI generates a full tool definition (name, description, when-to-use, tags, usage examples, parameters, actions, endpoint, display config, execution mode, available-in, risk level, tracking ID format) and shows it for review. If something’s off, describe the change in “Want to change something?” (e.g. “swap the email action for a webhook”) and AI revises the preview. When it looks right, Save as Draft.

    What happens on save

The tool is saved as a real draft: its first version is created with status Draft, which hides it from the assistant on every client (see Versions). Nothing it defines — including email and webhook actions — can run until you publish it. On the tools list it shows the Draft/Staging/Published control set to Draft, and it’s marked with an AI badge, so you can tell at a glance which tools came from this flow.

Review the tool in the regular tool editor — parameters, actions, endpoint, execution mode — and when it’s ready, move it to Published (or to Staging first, to try it with a TEST key). Publishing is the moment the assistant starts using it. The tool is saved Enabled, so publishing is the only step needed; you can still switch Enabled off later (see Available In / Enabled) to take it offline without touching its versions.

Tools drafted by the dashboard assistant go through the same save, so they also start as Draft.

A Connect a calendar tool also starts as Draft, and is additionally saved disabled — see Calendar.
