Sign-in & Account
How you get into the dashboard, and the account flows that sit outside any project.
Sign in and sign up
Sign in at /login. Creating a new account at /register only works if new sign-ups are currently open — if they’re closed, the only way in is signing in to an existing account or accepting a project invitation (invited sign-ups always work, see below). Both /login and /register support:
- Email and password — passwords must be at least 8 characters.
- Google (“Continue with Google”) and GitHub (“Continue with GitHub”) — the same button works for both signing in and signing up: if no account exists yet for that provider’s email, one is created on the spot.
Email verification
New accounts must verify their email before they can use the dashboard. Until you do, signing in shows a Verify your email screen instead of the dashboard — every other page and the Dashboard Assistant are blocked until you click the link. From that screen you can resend the verification email (rate-limited) or confirm you’ve clicked it; the check also runs automatically when you bring the tab back into focus.
Forgot password
/forgot-password sends a reset link to the address you enter. To avoid revealing which emails have accounts, the confirmation message is the same whether or not the address is registered.
Signing in from the CLI
qafka login opens /login in your browser and, once you’re signed in, redirects to a callback page that hands a token back to the CLI running on your machine — see CLI › qafka login for the full flow.
Joining a project via invitation
An invitation email links to a page where you can see the project and role you’re invited to without signing in. Accepting or declining requires an account — sign in if you have one, or register with the invitation’s email (which is locked in on the sign-up form). See Invitations.
