Dashboard Assistant
A chat widget available throughout the dashboard (Qafka dogfooding its own @qafka/web package) that can look at the page you’re on, navigate you around the dashboard, and act on your behalf.
What it can do
- Navigate you to the right page — project settings, a specific tool, onboarding, and so on.
- Read the page you’re on and answer questions about what’s there.
- Fill in forms it knows — your profile name in Settings, AI Behavior’s greeting/instructions fields, PII settings, starting a new sub-project, the onboarding forms, or a document’s fields. It’s designed to tell you what it’s about to enter and ask you to confirm before submitting; once you agree, it fills the fields in one step and submits (you’ll see a small cursor move across the screen while it types — pressing Esc while it’s working stops it before anything is saved). Irreversible actions — deleting, publishing, sending an invitation, and similar — always need your reply in the chat before it goes through, separately from the form-fill confirmation above. None of the forms it can fill in ask for a password or payment card, so it never touches that kind of field.
- Explain why your project’s assistant gave a particular answer to one of your project’s end users — what it based that answer on.
- Stage a correction — if an answer was wrong, it can jump you to the right page (a document, a tool, an instruction field, a navigation rule) with a suggested fix pre-filled — including a tool’s description or “when to use” text, on both the tool editor and the new-tool page. It never saves this for you; you still review and hit save yourself.
- Draft a new tool from a description — it’s saved the same way as Create with AI: added with Enabled on and available to the assistant right away. Switch Enabled off if you want to review it first.
- Tell you what’s set up — your current project’s setup status, or your account’s onboarding status, so it can suggest what to do next.
It doesn’t act directly on the Billing page or any admin-only page — elsewhere in the dashboard it can read and act on whatever’s on screen.
